Home Button - the indented round button on the bottom of the front face of the iPad
RESET/Wake button - on the top right edge of the iPad

- touching once wakes up the device; touching again will take you back to the home screen, you may have to ‘Swipe to Open’
- two touches of the Home Button opens up the App Manager
- touch and hold on the home button takes you to the Search Screen
- use home button and reset button together to take a screen capture
RESET/Wake button - on the top right edge of the iPad
- if the iPad is asleep, this button will wake it up - if the iPad is in deep sleep or hibernation mode, you hold the wake button for a few seconds til the Apple symbol appears on your screen
Other buttons / ports
- on the bottom edge is the port for the charging and plugging in a data projector adapter
- along the right edge is a volume switch and a toggle for lock rotation or mute
- top left edge has a port for plugging in speakers or a microphone
- there are 2 cameras - front and rear facing
- the built in microphone is on the front fact, top centre
Swiping
- swipe right and left to move between screens
- 4 finger swipe UP to see App Manager
- 4 finger swipe sideways to move between open apps
Pinching
- pinch to shrink, spread to zoom
- pinch with 4 or 5 fingers to close an app and return to home screen
Search page
- swipe all the way left or touch and hold on the Home button to get to a Search page
- you only need to enter the first 2 or 3 letters of the app or item being searched - the whole iPad is searched, including documents, photos, etc.
