iPad for Seniors - Irene's Friends at Glenridge

Day 6 - Thursday, November 24, 10:00 a.m.
  • Have some fun with PhotoBooth (It's a built-in App) - it's a favorite with kids!
  • Share some of our favorite apps: (I'll add the list after class today!)
  • Add some of the shared apps to your own iPads.
  • 2 of Susan's favorites are iMovie (comes with your iPad) and Lego Movie Maker.
  • Explore iBooks and iTunes. (These are both built-in apps. To download or purchase products, you will need to have your iTunes password ready!)

Day 5 - Thursday, November 17, 2:30 p.m.
  • Let's practice searching using Safari! Search for the following things - by yourself or with a partner - here is a link to the list > SAFARI SEARCH LIST.
  • Pic Collage - add this app from the App Store - let's create a collage and email it to someone!
  • Look at the updates to my 'How To' page.
  • Hi Bobbi - I hope your drive was smooth and that you're enjoying some good quality golf time in Florida! Check the 'How To's' page (When you touch iPad for Seniors above, a drop down menu will appear - choose 'How To's')- I have added lots of helpful things in there! See you in Dec.!

Day 4 - Thursday, November 10, 2:30 p.m.
  • Share any Facetime or Skype adventures! Any questions?
  • Let's go to the App Store and add Pic Collage - it's an awesome free app for creating Photo Collages
  • Create your own Pic Collage today - save it to Photos
  • Email this photo to someone! (If necessary, set up email address in Settings first)

Day 3 - Thursday, November 3, 10 a.m.
  • Using Safari for web searches
  • Go to this website! Learn how to create a weblink on your iPad. (Looks just like an app!)
  • Photo Organization - creating folders, rearranging and renaming content
  • Fun with Facetime :)
  • What is the difference between Facetime and Skype?
  • Try to use either Facetime or Skype this week with someone new!

Day 2 - Thursday, October 27, 2:30 p.m.
  • Control Panel, Notifications Screen, Search
  • Settings - Choose Side Switch, look at other options in Settings
  • How to Duplicate a Photo - Open the photo you wish to duplicate > Touch the Export button at the top right > Choose Duplicate
  • Explore the App Store
  • Look at Maps
  • Learn How to do a Screen Capture: Touch the Home and Reset Buttons at the same time, then release. When you release, whatever is showing on the screen will be captured as a photo. You can find it by looking in your Photos.

Day 1 - Thursday, October 20, 2:30 p.m.
  • Introductions, Share our iPad experiences
  • Overview of iPad - the physical layout and parts, basic functions, home button, swiping, apps, power
  • Let's learn about the Camera - front and rear facing, how to zoom, how to change options from Camera, Video, Square, etc.
  • Look at Photos - examine how our photos are organized
  • Notes and Keyboard
